Head of Customer Solutions (m/f/d)

On behalf of an innovative, internationally operating technology company in the biopharmaceutical space, we are currently supporting the search for a senior leader who combines scientific depth with strong customer focus and commercial awareness. This role offers the opportunity to shape how advanced data-driven and digital twin solutions create tangible value for sophisticated life-science customers.

Your Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of complex customer projects in data science, modeling, and digital twin environments, from data intake through model delivery and interpretation

• Scientific leadership in the design, calibration, and validation of hybrid models combining mechanistic and AI-based approaches

• Acting as the primary scientific and strategic contact for key customer accounts

• Translating complex analytical and modeling results into clear, decision-ready insights for both technical and executive stakeholders

• Identifying opportunities to expand and deepen existing customer relationships through follow-up and extension projects

• Active involvement in pre-sales activities, including technical discussions, presentations, and proposal development

• Leading, mentoring, and developing an international team of Data Scientists

• Establishing best practices for modeling workflows, data analysis, and scientific communication

• Close collaboration with product, research, and engineering teams to align customer delivery with the broader solution roadmap

• Representing the organization at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events

Your Profile

• Approximately 8+ years of experience in applied data science, hybrid or mechanistic modeling, ideally within biopharma, biotech, or a related life-science environment

• Strong understanding of cell culture processes, bioreactor systems, and bioprocess data

• High proficiency in Python and common data science / ML libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, PyTorch, JAX, or scikit-learn

• Proven track record of leading customer-facing scientific projects

• Excellent ability to communicate complex scientific topics clearly and convincingly to diverse audiences

• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and articulate customer value

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities with a high level of ownership and accountability

• Structured, analytical way of working and confidence operating autonomously in an international, remote-first setup

• Advanced academic background (PhD or MSc) in Data Science, Systems Biology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field is a strong advantage
